My first experience with camera

One day, I went to my friend house. His name is Holimoan, but he used to call Hol.
“Hi Hol, what are you doing?”
“Hi Bul, I am cleaning my lenses”
Hol loved photography very much. He took a lot of pictures from many places. The pictures were interesting, wonderful and cool. I had looked all of his pictures. I really liked them.

“Hei, why don’t we go somewhere and take some pictures?”
“I have some cameras and you can use one”
“But I know nothing about camera”
“Don’t worry, I’ll teach you”
“OK, that’s fine”

After Hol finished cleaning his lenses, we went to Graha Sabha Permana (GSP). On our way to GSP, we stopped at Fuji Film store to buy some negative films. He taught me how to load film to camera. Then he gave some basic methods about camera such as speed of camera and diaphragm of lens.

We arrived at GSP only a few minutes later. Hol parked his motorcycle to the parking area. We walked around GSP building to find a good view and took some pictures. Hol taught a lot of thing. It was a very nice moment.

Membaca artikel 'english'

Membaca dan memahami artikel or tulisan
berbahasa inggris, mungkin hal biasa
bagi sebagian kita. Di pihak lain, kegiatan
tersebut merupakan momok yang sangat
menakutkan.
Bagaimana tidak, membaca satu paragraf saja
membutuhkan waktu yang cukup lama. Belum lagi
harus memahami pokok atawa inti paragraf
tersebut.
So, bagaimana pulak jika harus membaca
sebuah artikel, jurnal ilmiah atopun buku
yang isinya cuman berbahasa 'english' doank?

Sebenarnya ada beberapa metode sederhana
yang dapat digunakan untuk membaca serta
memahami kalimat-kalimat itu.
Salah satunya adalah membaca per paragraf.
Baca secara cepat tiap kalimat, untuk sementara
waktu abaikan kata-kata yang tidak diketahui
artinya.
Untuk pemahaman, pada tiap paragraf biasanya
terdapat inti paragraf dan terdapat pada
kalimat awal or kalimat akhir pada paragraf
tersebut. Sedangkan kalimat laen, hanya sebagai
pendukung ato penjelas dari kalimat inti.

Sedangkan untuk skala yang lebih besar,
sebut saja sebuah artikel yang terdiri
atas beberapa paragraf. Nah biasanya, inti
pembahasan terletak pada paragraf awal, ato
bisa juga terletak di paragraf akhir.

Juvenile delinquency

Juvenile delinquency increased significantly
these days. This problem was caused by lots
of things such as environment, poverty,
and rebellious phase. Beside that, there
are three common important effects
that we could find around us like
drug abusing, commit a crime, and
leaving school or family.
To begin with, the main cause of
the problem is environment. We can divide
this type of problem onto two separate
field; family and neighborhood.
It could be two main points in family
like feud family or broken home and
lack of controlling from parents.
Broken home happen when parents fight each other
every time and they have not suitable to live together.
Because of that deciding to live by their own.

In neighborhood term, friends and neighbors
have given the biggest contribution.
Secondly, poverty has influenced young
generation behavior. Idle hand is a big
part of poverty. Young people can easily
provocative to do something bad just to
get a little money.

The Paper Processing

In some countries, waste paper is recycled to
make better quality paper.
After collecting paper, the paper puts in the
machine to remove paper clips; plastic and
staples.
Next, it sorts into categories e.g newspaper,
computer paper and magazines.
Then remove ink by:
a) soaking paper and breaking up into pulp in
huge washers,
b) adding chemicals.
Other materials maybe added to pulp e.g bleaches,
dyes and chemicals. After that pass through
heavy roller to squeeze out water.
Next, press and flatten into thin sheets.
Dry in furnaces
Polish and treat final product.
Subsequently, it cut into sheets or rolls.
Finally, packaging product for distribution
to customer.

Title : The Story of Scotland Yard


London got its first police on Sept 30,1829 which carried heavy stick and a light at night. In that time, most of policemen used the door at the back of the house and that came out in Scotland Yard.

In Scotland Yard, it had different departments that deal with different things. As mention in this book, there were 4 departments which we can see below.
Department A deals with policemen and policewomen. It was the place of the New Scotland Yard. It had police in horseback, so he could see trouble in a long way off. It had some dogs too which trained very well. They could smell drugs, looked for people and so on. Sometimes, when traffic in London became very heavy. So with its computer, it could detect and saw where the traffic lights were not working.

Department B deals with fingerprints. They were collected from people all over Britain and put them in the Police National Computer at Hendon. Only police could access them.

Department C had its own detectives which deal with very crucial thing such as murder. If police need to work with others from different countries which called Interpol. Beside that it used scientist to solve some extreme cases.

Department D had the job of finding new policemen.
The important thing is London that has floating police station and this is the only one in the world.

Kate Jensen works as a news reporter on the
'Daily Echo' in London. Her boss is Dave Balzano
who was an excellent newspaper editor. She has
another friend which is called Max Carson. He was
her ex-boss.

After Max retired from the newspaper, he went to his
hometown, Holland. He and his brother, Tom Carson, run
a football club which was called Rotterdam City Football
Club.

one day, Max was found in Amsterdam with twenty
knife wounds in his body. He was killed.

Kate shocked after hearing about that. She decided
to go to Amsterdam to find Max's killer. She had
managed some plans. Fortunately, she has a friend
in Amsterdam, Elly van Praage, who was a policewoman.

She worked very hard this time, with a help from
some friends, she could find the big man behind
her friend's murdered. It was Christiaans who was
Max's friend and had a big share at the Rotterdam
City Football Club.

along this street, we (Jeffrey and I) couldn't find anybody else, only grass, trees, and vegetables.
where is everybody?
suddenly Jeffrey stopped his motorcycle. I was curious and a question come out from my mouth.
'are we lost or something?'
'nop',he said,'I don't think so, but...first we should find someone'
after riding fot ten minutes, he shouted
'ahhaaa...'
'what's ahhaa dude?' I still confused
'do you see a mini traditional market next to bamboo?'he asked me
'yup, no doubt for that'I said
'we could ask the keeper'
'right..go..go...'

before asking, I greeted her
'assalamualaikom.....'
'wa'alaikom salam...'she answered
'excuse me mam, we want to go to ie su'um, but we don't remember the way to get there. would you mind
show me the way?'
'no..not at all..
just ride along this steet at about twenty minutes and you 'll see the bridge on your right side...
but don't turn right. just still on the track and you'll get into the place in ten minutes later'
'thank you alot mam'

finally, we got there,ie su'um, the hot spring.
the scenery is very beautiful. it's surrounded by hills. meanwhile, the smell of sulfur is quite strong..

what a lovely journey!

A Planning

Yesterday, I asked some of my friends if they wanted to join me to Ampel. Some of them really wanted to go, but some did not. Then we planned when we were going to Ampel. We decided to go at 10 o’clock.

After took a bath, I dress up, I chose to wear t-shirt and jeans. I o went to Amir’s room, I wanted to know if Amir and his friends were ready to go. Before we left our lodging, we had to be sure that we had locked our room.

We walked to the main street. It was not so far away from our lodging. So it was not make us to sweat. We had to cross the street, but the traffic was too crowded. It was really hard to go to the other part of street. Even though it needs a big effort, we still made it.

A few minibuses passed in front of us, but no one of us stop them. The weather is getting hot and hot. We still stood up under a big green tree. Then I though if we took a taxi, it would be nice, because we would feel comfort and save. Suddenly, Amir saw a Blue bird taxi and waved his hand. So the taxi stopped just exactly in front of us. We got in the taxi and said to the driver that we want to go to Ampel. In the way to Ampel, the taxi driver told us about the history of Ampel. Wow it was very interesting, we got a lot of information that we did not find in our history books.

Why We Did not Take a Chance

My old friend, Jeffrey, arrived in Banda Aceh last Saturday. He has not stayed in Banda Aceh for quite a long time, because he has worked at Schlumberger in Balikpapan since 2000. He went to his home town only for vacation. He always does that, at least once a year, in Idul fitri, and he stays at home with his lovely family.

Last night, he gave me a call. He asked me to go to one place. I have heard that place for years, but I had never gone there. The place is so far away from Banda Aceh. It is in a rural area and near to the hill. It is called ie su’um or sometimes we hear as ie ju. Both have the same meaning. We can say it as hot water or boiled water.

Jeffrey came to my house at nine o’clock. He brought his camera, tripod, and the other camera accessories. Frankly, it is still early in the morning. Before leaving, I had to check my camera equipments one more time. Because I did not want to lose any single part of the scenery. Then we set foot in ie su’um.

After riding the motorcycle about 30 minutes we arrived in Krueng Raya port. Jeffrey pulled over his motorcycle. He asked me if I still remembered the way to ie su’um. I told him that I had never been there before. Then we decided to ask warung nasi keeper. She said that we had to return to the last intersection road. After we saw the police station, then we should turn left.

We arrived at the intersection ten minutes later. We decided to stop in for a moment. We entered the coffee shop, ordered two cup of coffee and some snacks. Jeffrey said that he had gone to ie su’um when he was at junior high school. So he could not remember the way exactly. Why we did not take a chance, I said.

A British agent, Munro, is sent Penang. Penang is a part of Malaysia. His job is to find a man who wants to kill the British Prince. The Prince is going to meet the King of Malaysia on August 31st. Munro’s boss, Naylor, gave him the information about the killer. The killer’s name is Sergio.

In Penang, Munro met his colleagues from Malaysia. They were also policemen. They were Abdullah Yahya and David Lee. They took him to the hotel. In the afternoon, he went to the place where the King of Malaysia and the Prince of British would meet. He could see the place clearly, because he rent a trishaw.

Lee said to him that Sergio had arrived to Penang and stayed at the Cheong Fott Tze Mansion hotel. He went to that hotel to find some more information about Sergio. But he did not arrest Sergio yet, because his boss ordered him to arrest Sergio when Sergio was in action.

In August 31st, before ten o’clock he went to Sergio’s room at that hotel. He found that Sergio with a gun and ready to shoot the Prince. Sergio looked a bit surprise that he got unexpected guess. Then they got a fight, but suddenly policemen came and pointed the gun to Sergio. They stopped fighting and arrested Sergio.

What a journey!

After I spent my holiday in Medan, I had to go home. There were a lot of transportation to go home, such as airplane, bus and ship. I thought bus was the cheapest one and easy to get. I went to bus agent and bought a ticket to Aceh. It was 5.00pm and the bus would leave at 9 00 pm. Four hours? Such along time! Huh!

I bought some food and minerals. I had dinner at 8.00pm. I got into the bus at 845pm. The bus left just in time. The bus started to run. Ouugg! I felt tired and got sleep.

Suddenly the bus was stopped. I heard gun fired. The driver said,”gun fired!”. Everybody was scare. Some of passengers got out and tried to find a place to hide. No place to hide, only rice field drain. They got in that place. After 15 minutes, we didn’t hear any gun fire. Then the driver said, “it’s Ok now, you could get in”. Some of passengers got into the bus. Thirty minutes later, the bus started to continue the journey.
Huh! What a journey!

by the way, naek bus way...kalo mo diurutken sebenernya banyak kosakata yang seharusnya kira ketahui or hafal. on the other hand, kosakata apa sech yang paling amat sering muncoel dalam english, especially for one who want to take english test whether writing or speaking test.

but only words no sentences at all

Banda Aceh and Papua

The main reason why Banda Aceh and Papua are similar is their location.
Both Banda Aceh and Papua are very far away from Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. Another reason is that the population is quite few.
Both Banda Aceh and Papua have a lot of tribes.
Neither Banda Aceh nor Papua has much heavy industry.
Banda Aceh people love to go to coffee shop while Papua’s love hunting pig very much.
But frankly, they both are very nice place to visit because they have a lot of beautiful scenes.

The Story of The Internet

As a concern about technology, American President, Eisonhower, announced a new organization that would control the government’s high technology work that called ARPA. ARPA was working in computing area.

In the beginning, computers were sited in some universities, acted as a stand-alone machine. They did their own work and they had different systems. But later on, the computers could talk to each other’s.

To make two computers could talk, it needed additional equipment that named IMP. IMP was a box, which stand between the different computer systems. It would translate between different networks and reduced the number of differences between them.

Internet was used at first time in 1973, which meant a network of networks.

Personal Computer (PC) was invented by Altair, but only the hardware not the software. So, to make it run, it needs software, which created by Bill Gates and Paul Allen in that time.

World wide web (www) was invented by Tim Berners-Lee. It could make electronic connection within different documents on different computers.

There were two groups of students who made free newspapers to their town. The first groups consist of Barbara and Gary. Their newspaper was called Bargain Bazaar. The second one was named Advertiser that consists of three teenagers. They were Andy, Kath and Tony Strong.

They published the newspaper every week. They used computer to type, edit and compose stories. They competed each other to get a lot of costumers, but Advertiser cheated. One day, they intruded to Bargain Bazaar office and left a virus in their computer.

Bargain Bazaar didn’t take a long time to know who did it. After that Advertiser apologized what they had done. They tried to fix it, but it didn’t work. So Bargain Bazaar had to use typewriter in that time. They wrote story about virus and a big ad. The ad was about reward for somebody who could kill their virus.

Only one could do that, she was Samantha. So she got fifty pounds.
